MerchTapp ("MerchTapp," "we," "us," or "our") provides a mobile application that helps merchants accept in-person payments, including Tap to Pay on iPhone through Stripe Terminal. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
We may collect the following information when you use MerchTapp:
- Account information, such as your email address, user ID, and login information.
- Device information, such as a device identifier, device name, operating system, and app version.
- Location information, including precise location, when needed to support Stripe Terminal location requirements, payment processing, fraud prevention, and merchant account functionality.
- Payment and transaction information, such as payment intent identifiers, checkout session identifiers, transaction status, amounts, currency, and related payment-processing metadata.

MerchTapp does not intentionally collect or store full payment card numbers, bank account numbers, or Apple Pay payment credentials. Card-present and Tap to Pay payment information is processed by Stripe and Apple-supported payment services.
How We Use Information

- Create, authenticate, and maintain user accounts.
- Enable in-person payments and Tap to Pay on iPhone.
- Connect to Stripe Terminal and process payment-related requests.
- Determine or create the appropriate Stripe Terminal location for payment processing.

- Maintain, improve, and debug MerchTapp.

Third-Party Services

MerchTapp may also use Apple services and iOS system frameworks, including Tap to Pay on iPhone and location permission controls, as part of normal app operation.

Location Information
MerchTapp requests location access while the app is in use. Location is used for payment-processing functionality, including Stripe Terminal location requirements, fraud prevention, and merchant operations. You can disable location access in iOS Settings, but some payment features may not work without it.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide MerchTapp, operate payments, maintain account records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and applicable legal, tax, accounting, or payment-processing requirements.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

- Disable app permissions, such as location access, through iOS Settings.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, and payment-processing obligations.
Children's Privacy
MerchTapp is intended for merchants and business users. It is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International Users
If you use MerchTapp outside your country of residence, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.
